New High Close SPX, INDU...NDX 11 Year High...

Seven of nine sectors moved higher on Wednesday.  XLF, XLK and XLY were the strongest sectors.

The SPX and other indexes continued to consolidate pulling back just 6 points from Tuesday’s close before making a New High Close on Wednesday.  The NDX made an 11 year high.  The SPY moved up 40 cents on volume of 138.8 million sharesThe intermediate term trend is still up.

Money Flow was atypical but in a small degree as the Euro was essentially unchanged and the TNX, bonds, XLF and SPX moved higher.  XLF was the leading sector and the VIX also moved slightly higher.  The most recent SPX breakout has a chart target of 1,428 within 12 weeks of the breakout.

The VIX moved up and did NOT confirm the SPX on Wednesday.

Breadth strengthened as advancers led decliners 1.38 to 1 on the NYSE and 1.29 to 1 on the NASDAQ.

CERN +8.31, +13.28% gained after better than expected earnings.

Losing stocks < -2.0% included IL, X, AKS, ATI, ANR

NDX 100 stocks stronger than the NDX included CERN, CTRP, VMED, MU, NVDA, SIRI, SHLD, WFM, AKAM and AMAT.

Stocks weaker than the NDX include PNRA, NFLX, ALXN, VRTX, CTSH, FSLR, BIIB, AMGN, GMCR and WCRX.

Two NDX stock CTRP and WYNN closed above the 30 DMA and three EXPD, SPLS, WCRX closed below leaving 91 NDX stocks above their 30 DMA.
