AAPL All-time High Drives NDX to an 11 Year New High Close...TNX Up...

Six of nine sectors moved higher on Thursday.  XLK, XLP and XLI were the strongest sectors.

The SPX and other indexes continued to consolidate pulling back just 5 points from Wednesday’s close before making a New High Close on Thursday.  The NDX made another 11 year high primarily on the strength of AAPL which continues to rise following the announcement regarding their TV debut. The SPY moved up 17 cents on volume of 148.4 million sharesThe intermediate term trend is still up.

Money Flow was atypical as the Euro rose and the TNX and SPX moved higher.  XLF and bonds moved lower and the VIX also moved higher.  The most recent SPX breakout has a chart target of 1,428 within 12 weeks of the breakout, now just 76 points away.

The VIX moved up and did NOT confirm the SPX on Thursday.

Breadth weakened as advancers led decliners 1.02 to 1 on the NYSE and decliners led 1.23 to 1 on the NASDAQ.

AKAM +3.62, +10.51% gained after better than expected earnings.

Stocks weaker than the NDX include RIMM, CSCO, CERN, NWSA, CTRP, EA, AMGN, GMCR, BBBY and BIIB.

One NDX stock EXPD closed above the 30 DMA and five AMGN, BBBY, CTRP, RIMM and WYNN closed below leaving 87 NDX stocks above their 30 DMA.
