SPY Pauses at Resistance After Support Bounce Rally This Week...AAPL, FB Move Higher...


Eight of nine sectors moved lower on Friday…XLU, XLP, and XLV were the strongest sectors…XLB was the weakest sector.

Breadth weakened…decliners led advancers 1.46 to 1 on the NYSE and 1.61 to 1 on the NASDAQ…

Technical Commentary:

DIA + 0.08%, SPY -0.18%, QQQ -0.32% and IWM -0.54%The broad indices traded in a tight range Friday on lighter volume and closed mixed as they continue their earnings season consolidation pausing at resistance and pulling back slightly.

The Euro was up 23 pips and closed at 1.3031.   The Euro stayed above support for the thirteenth straight day.

AAPL moved up 8.82 on 27.3 million shares.  AAPL continues to form a bear flag pattern with its short term rally following earnings on Tuesday.
 
FB jumped 71 cents and closed above its 30 DMA on volume of 33 million shares, following an upgrade to Strong Buy with a price target of $37 from Raymond James.
