NDX, QQQ Nearing Breakout to New High..Volatility Drops after Tariff Announcement...

The DJIA, up 93 points to 24,895, led by strength in JNJ, CAT, MCT, AAPL and BA. 


Nine sectors were higher on Thursday, led by staple XLP +0.91%, and real estate XLRE +0.79%.

SPY up 1.32 at 274.10 on 66.8 million shares, 51% below average volume.  Up on lower volume.
VIX down 1.22 at 16.54
Oil down 1.02 to 60.33
TLT up .68 at 118.69 on 7.0 million shares, 40% below average volume.  Up on higher volume.

JNJ +2.34%, and PFE +1.59%, led the DJIA, 24 advancers.
AKAM +7.27%, DVN +4.65%, and ANDV +3.91%, led the SPX.
ESRX +8.58%, WYNN +6.35%, STX +4.58%, ATVI +3.70% and ULTA +2.72% led the NDX.

Intermediate and long term up trend intact.  3-day short term trend is up.

Up: QQQ, SPY, DIA,
Down: IWM

Breadth was mixed on Thursday, as advancers led 1,694 to 1,224on the NYSE and led 1,519 to 1,351 on the NASDAQ.

The SPY MFC green line pointed up at 57, bullish.
