Monday Another Major Down Day...

Strongest Sectors: XLP -1.92%...XLK -2.41%...XLU -3.16% Weakest Sectors: XLE -7.33%...XLB -6.66%...XLF -6.55% Sector Watch Up Trending: Sideways: XLE, XLU, XLY, XLV, XLK Down Trending: XLF, XLP, XLI, XLB Stocks moved broadly lower on Monday with the RUT joining the DJIA and SPX breaking its November support low. Only the Nasdaq remains above its November support low as of today. All ETF sectors moved lower with Basic Materials XLB joining the down trending sectors. The other Sector ETFs are now near support and could join the down trend list if they break. ALTR, AMAT, MRVL, NSM and XLNX broke the low of the high day or fell to support. AMZN is holding in a horizontal pattern. BIDU broke the low of the high day in a flag pattern. PCLN formed a doji in a flag pullback. Monday was a travel day. Dave is teaching an AT Workshop Tuesday and Wednesday in Dallas. Index Commentary The SPX formed a large black candle continuing the down trend from its break of support on Friday. The DJIA formed a large black candle in continuing its down trend. The Nasdaq formed a large black candle as it fell towards its November support low. No morning star pattern here. The RUT formed a large black candle in breaking its November support low…this is an intermediate term down trend. Stock Commentary Coal stocks BTU, CNX, KOL and WLT all broke support on Monday forming large black Steel stocks NUE, SCHN, STLD and X formed large black candles and continued their recent down trend. Rail stocks BNI, CSX, NSC and UNP formed large black candles after breaking support on Friday. Ag-related stocks POT, MOS, CF and IPI on Monday broke the low of the high day.
