Technical Commentary:

SPY – 1.40%, DIA – 1.44%, QQQ –1.69%, IWM – 1.86%.

On Wednesday the DIA closed just below its short-term horizontal support.  Overnight stock futures traded lower and the SPY, QQQ and IWM gapped down on the open.  Stocks seemed to find the low after about 45 minutes and traded in a range for the balance of the day.  Each broad index created a break of support entry on Wednesday.  Short term trend is down.  Six week intermediate term trend is neutral.

Notwithstanding many individual stocks broke support today, many stocks like AAPL, BIDU, CA, CTXS, FB, FFIV, FISV, FOSL, FOXA, GOLD, MYL, PAYX, PCLN, QCOM, SYMC, TSLA, VIAB and WYNN are still in strong up trends and many forming bull flag price patterns.

CSCO and WMT gapped lower after reporting EPS while NTAP gapped down but filled its gap by the end of the day.

Chart Signals Strategy Guidelines
When the market is trending up Chart Signals looks for support bounce and resistance breakout entries.

When the market is trending down Chart signals looks for resistance pull back and support break entries.

When the market is sideways in consolidation Chart Signals will look for support bounce, diagonal breakouts and pull backs at resistance where price action stays between support and resistance.

Technical setups for short-term option trades be in and out by earnings release.
Over earnings release use earnings option strategies such as straddles, strangles, OTM calls or puts.
After earnings look for bullish setups in positive reaction stocks and bearish setups in negative reaction stocks.

The Market Forecast Green Line closed below the upper zone and is pointed down.
