AAPL, Euro rallies as S&P Takes a Breather on Weaker Semi and Retail Stocks...

Four of nine sectors moved higher on Friday…XLU, XLF and XLB were the strongest sectors …XLP was the weakest sector…. 

Breadth weakened as decliners led advancers1.14 to 1 on the NYSE and 1.24 to 1 on the NASDAQ…

Technical Commentary:
The SP moved slightly lower on Friday on weakness in semiconductors, biotechs, retail stocks, consumer staples and technology.  Financial and basic material stocks were stronger on Friday.  TNX fell as TLT bonds moved higher.    

IWM -0.05%, SPY -0.13%, DIA -0.14% and QQQ -0.28% moved lower. 

AAPL gained 11.06 and closed at its highest level in twelve days, above its 10 DMA and just $4 below its 30 DMA.  AAPL last closed above its 30 DMA on Jan 2   FB was down 40 cents continuing to form a MACD bullish divergence at support below its 30 DMA and is still a setup for a potential C Pattern Entry after a support bounce

STX -1.50% and WDC -1.09% closed lower for the first time in six days. 

The Euro was up 73 pips and closed at 1.3075 on Friday.  The Euro has traded at its 1.30 support area for the past 14 days and may be poised for a breakout of its short-term trading range.

Trade what you see on the chart of your position. The trend is up and traders should lock in profits when targets are reached. As always look for re-entry according to your rules.

The SPY’s trend continued higher.  Eight of nine sector ETFs including XLP, XLU, XLV, XLY, XLK, XLF, XLI, XLE are positive XLB continued neutral.


The Market Forecast Green Line is in the upper reversal zone.
