SPY Breakout New High Close as Euro, Gold, Oil, Financials Rise...

All nine sectors moved higher on Thursday…XLF, XLB and XLP were the strongest sectors.

Breadth strengthened Thursday as advancers led decliners 3.67 to 1 on the NYSE and 2.63 to 1 on the NASDAQ…

Technical Commentary: The SPY achieved both its 144.92 and 146.05 price targets on Thursday.  The SPY volume surged to 225.3 million shares, its highest volume since July 27.  The 2.618 Fib target is 147.88.  The ES future also reached its 1443 and 1455 targets.  The 2.618 Fib target is 1,473.50.    

A very strong Euro continues to bode well for U.S. stocks.   XLF gained big as BAC, C, JPM, WFC, RF, ZION, STI, MS and GS made solid gains.
