SPX, NDX Close Lower as Tariff Concerns Continue...NVDA, Tech Stocks Lead Indexes Lower...

SPX -94.49, 5,861, is down 255 points since last Thursday’s close and is at its lowest close since January 14. Today’s selloff, at least in part, reportedly due to concerns over the implementation of tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China next week.  For the third time this week the SPX opened higher, rolled over and closed below its open.  Volatility jumped on Thursday’s selloff.   Nasdaq exchange advancers fell as NVDA, and technology stocks led the selloff. 

The DJI, 43,239, -0.45%, closed lower.  NDX -2.75% fell to three-month intermediate-term support.

SMCI: -8.16, -15.97% reverses Wednesday’s gain, breaks short-term support.

TSLA -8.85, -3.04%, closes at a new three-month low.

Thursday EPS reactions: CRM -12.43, -4.04%, EBAY-5.66, -8.19%, NVDA -11.13, -8.48%.

After-hours EPS reactions: NTAP -16.52, -13.97%, SOLV -3.94, -4.72%,

Mega caps BRK/B rose, and AAPL, MSFT, META, GOOGL, AMZN, TSLA, TSM, AVGO, NVDA fell on Thursday. 

SPY down 9.49 at 585.05, 74.1 million shares, above average volume

VIX up 2.03 at 21.13

QQQ down 14.29 at 500.27

TRV, MMM, MCD, V led the DJIA, 15 advancers, +4

INVH, ALL, FTI, UHS led the SPX, 187 advancers,

WBD, FANG, ORLY, CHTR led the NDX, 21 advancers

The SPY MFC green line is pointed down at 48.4 and is short-term bearish. –14.7.
