Tuesday is why it is important to become defensive when the market flattens out.

China reported April manufacturing PMI at 49.4 down from 49.7 in March and the UK reported its manufacturing PMI at 49.2 down from 50.7 in March.

Futures sold off over night and US stocks opened lower and sold until mid-day when buyers stepped and formed a hammer.  SPY, DIA and QQQ had higher lows than Friday.  IWM did make a lower low than Friday.  SPY, DIA and IWM are still in bull flag pattern, even considering Tuesday’s support test.

Watch for potential bearish trades on these ETFs below support:
SPY support low = 205.03
DIA support low = 176.29
QQQ support low = 104.88
IWM support low = 111.72
