RUT, NDX, SPX, DJI Closed Higher and VIX Fell Below 18 Again...Energy, Technology, Industrials Led Sectors...LRCX, TSLA Ended with Positive Earning Reactions...

SPX +39.04, 6,738, rallied to close above 6,700 again.  Breadth strengthened on Thursday as advancers led decliners on both exchanges.  Government shutdown continued for the twenty third day.

Tech stocks rallied and reversed Wednesday’s pull back after NFLX’s negative earnings reaction yesterday.  The four-week SPY trend is sideways, and the three- and six-month trends are up.  Dave


Earnings:
Both LRCX +4.45%, and TSLA +2.28%, opened lower, reversed and closed higher after earnings Wednesday AMC.  IBM -0.87%, opened lower, reversed and closed slightly lower.  URI -8.79%, opened lower and closed lower on a negative earnings reaction.

After hours: F +3.48%, INTC +7.31%, on positive earnings reaction and DECK -12.72%, on a negative earnings reaction.

NDX +0.88%, rallied and finished just below Monday’s all-time closing high. 

DJI, 46,590, +0.31%, rallied to its second highest close, led by HON, CAT and GS.

NVDA +1.88, +1.04%, formed a white engulfing candle at 8-day support.
AVGO +3.99, +1.17%, formed bullish harami after four-day pullback. 
ORCL +7.41, +2.72%, bullish engulfing at short-term support.


Mega caps TSLA, AMZN, AVGO NVDA, TSM, GOOGL, AAPL, META, MSFT rose and BRK/B fell on Thursday. 


SPY up +3.96 at 671.76, 65.4 million shares, below average volume.
VIX down -1.30 at 17.30,
QQQ up +5.09 at 610.58
