A headline today reads “Fed Minutes Hint to Another Hike This Year: Traders Don’t See It Coming In October.”  Does that headline tell you with certainty that a hike is coming?

Or does the word hint mean, a hike is absolutely coming? Or is it suggesting one might come or one might Not come?  It only tells you about a potential, maybe, might, could, perhaps, possibly, conceivably, theoretically, presumable hike this year.  In other words, it doesn’t tell the reader anything that will happen, only that it could or could not happen.  Welcome to financial entertainment which speculates about the future.  Almost all traders can speculate without the help of the entertainment media.

SPX -17.16, 7,801 opens lower and then rallied from its low of the day to form a hammer candle.  Breadth turned negative as decliners led on both the NYSE and the NASDAQ exchanges.  The SPX tested Tuesday’s HBO.

Oil /CL fell -0.97 and closed at 88.94.

Mega caps MU, LLY, AMZN, AAPL GOOGL, AVGO, BRK/B, MSFT rose, and AMD, NVDA, TSLA, TSM, META fell on Wednesday. 

SPCX closed at 167.60, -4.32, volume of 78.2 million shares. Our view is that SPCX, with no earnings, remains an overvalued speculation.  IPO at 135 on June 12.  In the end if buyers are greater than sellers the stock will rise.  People seem to be willing to speculate on this company’s long-term fundamental future.  Positive comments in news from Morgan Stanley earlier this week. 

The SPY MFC green line is up at 81.1, price-action paused on Wednesday, and is short-term bullish. +7.1.
