SPX +53.25, 6,791, closed above 6,700 for the fourth time this week.  Breadth remained positive on Friday as advancers led decliners on both exchanges.  Government shutdown continued for the twenty-fourth day.

Technology led all sectors on Friday.  IBM, AMD, MU, FSLR and APP were among the top eleven gainers in the SPX.  The four-week SPY trend is up with Friday’s breakout to a new closing high.  The three- and six-month trends are up.  Dave
