Three sectors were higher on Monday, led by energy XLE +0.82% and financial XLF +0.07%.

The DJIA, closed down 144 points at 25,306, led by weakness in BA, V, AXP, CAT and MSFT.  This is the twelfth consecutive close above 25,000 since June 15.

SPY down 1.47 at 279.95, on 63.7 million shares, 5% below average volume. Down on lower volume.

VIX up 1.23 at 14.29

Oil up 1.05 at 70.09

TLT down .41 at 119.05 on 7.1 million shares.

MRK +2.08%, CVX +1.48%, led the DJIA, 16 advancers, +3.

BEN +5.73%, IVZ +5.35% and AMG +5.08%, led the SPX.
VOD +4.54%, CELG +2.87%, CHTR +2.66%, and DLTR +2.31%, led the NDX.

Intermediate and long term up trend intact.  3-day short term trend is sideways.

Up:

Down: SPY, DIA, IWM, QQQ

Breadth strengthened on Monday, as decliners led 1,534 to 1,340 on the NYSE and led 1,920 to 1,022 on the NASDAQ

The SPY MFC green line is in the upper zone at 87, bullish.
