IWM, DIA, SPY Open Lower, Close Higher...Energy, Discretionary, Utilities Lead Sectors...CRWD, AMZN Lead NDX...

Stocks were lower in a broad pullback on Thursday on a retracement of Wednesday's strong rally.  The CPI report 7.9% YoY vs 7.9% estimate and .8% MoM vs. .8% estimate came is as expected.  Intraday stocks pulled back after Treasury Secretary Yellen morning comments.
 
Talks between UKR and RUS yielded no positive progress towards a cease fire and the UKR Foreign Minister said that Russian officials “live in their own reality.”  Many people know it is hard to make progress whether it’s with individuals, businesses or governments, when one party has a closed mind.
 
IWM, SPY, DIA opened lower and closed higher than the open on Thursday, but lower than Wednesday's close.  
 
CRWD +12.50% rises on a better-than-expected EPS.
 
After hours: 
DOCU -17.16% falls after EPS on weak guidance.
RIVN -12.71% EPS misses on sales and earnings.
 
 
SPY down 1.93 at 425.48, on 93.9 million shares, below average volume, down on lower volume.
VIX down 2.22 at 30.23
QQQ down 3.72 at 331.27
 
 
CVX, WMT, DOW, UNH led the DJIA, 11 advancers, -15
HAL, BKR, MOS, HFC led the SPX, 194 advancers.
CRWD, AMZN, ABNB, MAR led the NDX, 20 advancers.
 
The two-year trend term is up.  The one-year trend is up.

Advancers weakened on Thursday as decliners led 1,994 to 1,358 on the NYSE and led 2,904 to 1,727 on the NASDAQ.
 
The SPY MFC green line is pointed down at 28.3 and is short-term bearish.  SPY closed lower and is at its short and intermediate term support area.
