SPX Pauses Above Resistance Breakout...Euro Lower...VIX Lower...

Only three of nine sectors moved higher on Friday, XLV, XLY and XLK were the strongest sectors.  XLY has been one of the strongest sectors this week as related stocks like GM, F and TM performed well.

Money Flow did follow the Euro lower as bonds rose and TNX, XLF and SPX moved lower.  The VIX did NOT confirm the SPX pullback today and moved to its lowest level since July 23, 2011.


The Euro fell to a new low and the SPX paused while the NDX rose on the strength of AAPL, AMZN, NFLX, BRCM, NTAP, DELL, ORCL and MSFT.

The SPX made its highest low since October and traded in a narrow 8.50 point range after pulling back 7 points from its open.  The SPX turned short-term Neutral on Friday and may be poised for a short-term pullback.

SPY moved down 33 cents on volume of 148 million shares, a drop of 25.6 million below Thursday’s volume.

Breadth weakened as decliners led advancers 1.14 to 1 on the NYSE and 1.24 to 1 on the NASDAQ.

Stocks weaker than the NDX include EA, FOSL, WYNN, SHLD, GMCR, CTXS, COST, ISRG, CTRP and BMC.

Four NDX stocks BRCM, CA, EXPD and VMED closed above their 30 DMA and five BIDU, FLEX, SIAL, WYNN and YHOO closed below making 74 NDX stocks above their 30 DMA
