SPX Breaks Out Higher as Dave Celebrates 35 Years...

All nine sectors moved higher on Tuesday, XLB, XLF and XLI were the strongest sectors.

Thirty five years ago, January 10, 1977, Dave’s first day in the investment industry, the DJIA closed at 986.90.  Today the DJIA closed at 12,462.47.  After more than 11,000 Dow points and teaching more than 50,000 traders during the last eight years, Dave says, “Thank you for your friendship and the opportunity to help you become a better trader.”

Money Flow did follow the Euro slightly higher as bonds fell, TNX was slightly higher and XLF and SPX moved higher.  The VIX did confirm the SPX rise today.  The SPX broke out of its pennant pattern continuing its intermediate term up trend.

SPY moved up $1.11 on volume of 115.1 million shares.

Breadth strengthened as advancers led decliners 3.36 to 1 on the NYSE and 2.61 to 1 on the NASDAQ.
