Our iBullyBear Mentoring account maintained its’ Net Liq high on strength in LITE, NET, SPCX, NVDA and other gainers on Monday.

Improve trading results by employing a systematic approach to decision-making in the face of uncertainty.  If you want to improve your skills contact us through the iBullyBear link above.

If you are a trading decision maker, in the face of uncertainty, on the hard right edge of the chart, financial media is for entertainment.  Entertainment. It is for entertainment.

Nassim Taleb stated it this way, “I will say here that such respect for the time honored provides arguments to rule out any commerce with the babbling modern journalist and implies a minimal exposure to the media as a guiding principle for someone involved in decision-making under uncertainty.  If there is anything better than noise in the mass of ‘urgent’ news pounding us, it would be like a needle in a haystack.  People do not realize that the media is paid to get your attention.”  Taleb, Nassim Nicholas, Fooled By Randomness, 2001, p. 52-53,

Did you catch those key phrases like:
“rule out any commerce with,”
“minimal exposure to the media,”
“if there is anything better than noise,” … “it would be like a needle in a haystack,”
“the media is paid to get your attention”?

If you get what Nassim Taleb is saying, you should recognize the financial media is entertainment.  It is not a source for financial decision making.  Who would transfer serious financial decision making to someone who is not even aware of their situation?  Certainly, a journalist who is in the business of entertainment to get your attention would qualify as someone who is not aware of the listeners’ situation.

SPCX closed at 171.09, +12.13, volume of 134.7 million shares. Our view is that SPCX, with no earnings, remains an overvalued speculation.  IPO at 135 on June 12.  In the end if buyers are greater than sellers the stock will rise.  People seem to be willing to speculate on this company’s long-term fundamental future.  Positive comments in news from Morgan Stanley.

The SPY MFC green line is up at 66.3, price-action on Monday, continued to bounce and is short-term bullish. +7.7.

Ten of eleven sectors were higher on Monday, XLK +0.56%.
