NDX -45.78, -0.38%, pulls back on weakness in AAPL, AMZN, GOOGL, FB, NVDA and ADBE, after five consecutive all-time closing highs.  MSFT and TSLA did make new closing highs.

SPX +5.82, +0.17%, closes at 3,484 on a breakout continuation to a new all-time closing high.

CRM, AMGN and HON will replace XOM, PFE and RTX in the DJIA before the open next Monday August 31.

Eight of eleven sectors were higher on Thursday, led by XLF, XLRE and XLV.
