SPX Gap Up, Fill the Gap, Rally to Close Higher...Technology, Industrials, Communication Services Lead Sectors...NDX Makes All-time High...

The SPX +41.73 gapped up, filled the gap on a pullback, reversed higher and closed higher on increasing volume.  Today was a broad rally with strong gains in tech stocks as XLK +2.03% led all sectors.  AMAT, AVGO, AAPL, CRWD, WDC were among the tech advancers on Thursday.  NDX 16,952 hits an all-time closing high.

Fed-speak from Bostic occurred on Thursday.

Friday day 5 of Q4 earnings season continues with 7 SPX companies CMA, FITB, HBAN, RF, SLB, STT, TRV reporting BMO.  23 SPX companies report this week.  The first 23 companies had modest first day price reactions.

First day reaction: Q4

Neutral:  TFC, GS, PNC, BLK, JPM = 5

Negative:  DFS, KEY, NTRS, KMI, PLD, USB, SCHW, MS, DAL, UNH, WFC, BAC, = 12

Mega caps AAPL, META, NVDA, GOOGL, AMZN, MSFT rose and TSLA fell on Thursday.

SPY up 4.20 at 476.49 on 91.7 million shares, above average volume, closed higher on higher volume. 

VIX down .66 at 14.13

QQQ up 5.78 at 412.99

BA, AAPL, DIS, INTC led the DJIA, 24 advancers, +14

FAST, AAL, LUV, CZR, UAL led the SPX, 331 advancers 

FAST, KLAC, AMAT, ASML led the NDX, 81 advancers.

The two-year trend term is sideways.  The one-year trend is up.
