SPX/SPY, NDX/QQQ New All-time Closing High after Strong Jobs Report & Positive Trade Comments from China...

The SPX made a new all-time new high of 3,066 on Friday following the October Jobs Report of 128K new jobs vs. 90K expected.  China indicates it’s reached an agreement in principle with US in trade talk this week.  This is a day after Bloomberg reported a trade deal was unlikely.  This is the second time in the past four weeks that the news service has been involved with conflicting reports that appear to be inaccurate.

The DJIA, closed up 301 points at 27,347 led by strength in AAPL, CAT, BA, MMM and GS.  Closing above 27,000 for the fifth day in a row.

Eight of eleven sectors were higher on Friday, led by XLE, XLI and XLF.

SPY up 2.81 at 306.14 on 71.1 million shares, above average volume.  Up on higher volume.

VIX down .92 at 12.30

Oil up 2.09 at 56.23

TLT down .68 at 140.56 on 11.4 million shares

GLD up .13 at 142.56

CAT, WBA, DOW led the DJIA, 19 advancers, +14

QRVO, FTNT, APA led the SPX, 365 advancers

SWKS, WDC, QCOM, NXPI led the NDX, 75 advancers

Long term up trend intact.  3-day short term trend is up.

Breadth strengthened on Friday as advancers led 2,156 to 791 on the NYSE and led 2,336 to 740 on the NASDAQ

The SPX MFC green line is above 80 at 96 and is short-term bullish.
