FB Leads NDX, SPX Higher as DJIA Lags...AMZN Falls After-hours on EPS...

SPY, QQQ and IWM closed above horizontal resistance while DIA tested Wednesday’s breakout:

• FB +10.82%, CHTR +14.19% and WYNN +2.10% gained on positive EPS reaction.
• DWDP, V and MSFT fell on negative earnings reactions preventing the DJIA from moving up on Thursday.
• AMZN -4.87%, -88.73 fell after-hours on a negative EPS and guidance reaction,
• Jobs Report for January on Friday before the open. 

The DJIA, closed down 15 points at 24,999, led by weakness in DWDP, GS, MCD, V and UNHBA.  DWDP -9.23%, V -1.88% and MSFT -1.83% fell on a negative earnings reaction. 

Eight eleven sectors were higher on Thursday, led by communication services XLC +4.08% and utilities XLU +2.11%.

SPY up 2.35 at 269.93 on 92.3 million shares, 16% below average volume. Up on higher volume.

VIX down 1.09 at 16.57 

Oil down .20 at 54.02

TLT up 1.04 at 121.97 on 11.8 million shares.

PFE +2.98%, CAT +2.34%, led the DJIA, 19 advancers, -8

GE +11.65%, COTY +7.48% and ABC +6.16%, led the SPX.

CHTR +14.19%, FB +10.82%, ALGN +6.92%, and AMD +5.72% led the NDX.

Long term up trend intact.  3-day short term trend is up.

Breadth weakened on Thursday, as advancers led 2,039 to 915 on the NYSE and led 1,992 to 1,129 on the NASDAQ

The SPY MFC green line is in the upper zone pointed up at 93 and is short-term bullish.
