DJI, SPX, NDX Closed Lower after U.S. Saturday Announcement of EU Tariffs if Sell of Greenland Not Agreed To...Tuesday Selloff on Above Average Volume...

SPX -143.15, 6,796, ES futures sold off approximately 60 points from Friday’s close to Sundays’ open and over 40 points before and after the MLK, Jr. Holiday preceding Tuesdays’ open.  The drop was correlated with the administration position of increasing tariffs on EU countries if they did not agree to sell Greenland to the U.S.  The SPX fell 68 points from open to close on TuesdaySPY traded above average 111 million shares on Tuesday.

VIX closed +4.23, higher at 20.09
NDX -2.12%, closed below January 2 support.
DJI, 48,488, -1.76%, fell below short-term nine-day support.


Mega caps LLY rose and MSFT, BRK/B, GOOGL, META, AMZN, AAPL, TSLA,  NVDA, TSM, AVGO fell on Tuesday.

Down: IWM, DIA, SPY, QQQ,

The SPY MFC green line fell to 72.0, and green line is defensive. -14.1 

One of eleven sectors was higher on Tuesday led by XLP, XLE and XLV.   Financial, Technology and Consumer Discretionary led to the downside.
