SPX +92.93, 5,954, a choppy trading after an inline PCE report, a delayed Ukraine minerals deal and a late rally after a buy order imbalance at the NYSE lifted advancers more than 100% from Thursday’s level.   Breadth strengthened and all eleven sectors rose.

SPX, NDX Close Lower as Tariff Concerns Continue...NVDA, Tech Stocks Lead Indexes Lower...

SPX -94.49, 5,861, is down 255 points since last Thursday’s close and is at its lowest close since January 14. Today’s selloff, at least in part, reportedly due to concerns over the implementation of tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China next week.  For the third time this week the SPX opened higher, rolled over and closed below its open.  Volatility jumped on Thursday’s selloff.   Nasdaq exchange advancers fell as NVDA, and technology stocks led the selloff. 

The DJI, 43,239, -0.45%, closed lower.  NDX -2.75% fell to three-month intermediate-term support.

SMCI: -8.16, -15.97% reverses Wednesday’s gain, breaks short-term support.
