SPX Closes Higher at 3-month High on Broad Rally on Higher Volume...Real Estate, Industrials, Consumer Discretionary Leads All Sectors Higer...ULTA Up on Positive EPS Reaction...

The SPX +26.83 opened lower, traded in a range until Powell’s speaking began and then trended up to close higher, and formed a large white candle.  ULTA +46.04, +10.81% on a positive EPS reaction.  UPST, ETSY, W, CCL, NKE, CRM, RCL and SCHW were among Friday’s leading gainers.

Fed speakers today included Powell and Cook.  Powell on Friday wast at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA to participate in a Conversation with College President Helene Gayle at 11 am ET and a Roundtable Discussion with Fed Governor Lisa Cook at 2 pm ET.

Mega caps AAPL, AMZN rose and NVDA, GOOGL, TSLA, META, MSFT fell on Friday.

SPY up 2.70 at 459.10 on 89.1 million shares, above average volume, closed higher on higher volume. 

VIX down .29 at 12.63

QQQ up 1.11 at 389.94

WBA, NKE, CRM, CAT led the DJIA, 23 advancers, -2

BXP, ULTA, PARA, ETSY led the SPX, 434 advancers 

WBD, ILMN, ABNB, ENPH led the NDX, 74 advancers.
