QQQ All-time Closing High as SPY Pauses...Narrow Range Expiration Friday...MRNA, ETSY, AAPL, COST, NVDA Rise...Technology Leads Sectors...

Markets are closed Monday for the Labor Day holiday.  Enjoy the 3-day weekend!
 


The August Jobs Report was 235K new jobs vs. consensus of 740K, below expectations.  After the announcement, indexes traded in a narrow range on expiration Friday leading into the 3-day Labor Day weekend.
 
QQQ made a new all-time closing high and SPY pulled back 11 cents after an all-time high on Thursday.  Stocks were mixed but many stocks like MRNA and ETSY had solid gains.  AAPL, ADBE, COST, NFLX and NVDA hit new highs on Friday.
 
SPX closed above 4,500 for the sixth day and NDX closed above 15,600.
 
 
MTCH up 14.61, +9.86% jumped in after-hours on news that it will be included in the S&P 500 before the open on Sept. 20.  MTCH replaces PRGO.
 
 
SPY down .11 at 453.08, on 47.2 million shares, below average volume, down on higher volume.  
VIX unchanged at 16.41
QQQ up 1.17, +0.31% at 381.57
 
 
CRM, HD, WMT, AAPL led the DJIA, 10 advancers, -14
SWN, ETSY, NOW, COG led the SPX, 154 advancers.
DOCU, MRNA, WDAY, TEAM led the NDX, 50 advancers. 
 
The two-year trend term is up.  The one-year trend is up.

SPY = Pause after all-time closing high on Thursday
DIA = 10-day grinder in channel  
QQQ = All-time closing high
IWM = Pause day moving towards channel resistance
 
Two of eleven sectors were higher and two were unchanged on Friday, led by XLK, XLV, XLRE and XLC.

Healthcare leaders: MRNA, BAX, COO, WST
Real Estate leaders: EXR, EQIX, CBRE, PLD
Communication Services leaders: EA, NFLX, GOOGL, FB
 
 
Advancers were lower on Friday as decliners led 1,909 to 1,334 on the NYSE and led 2,577 to 1,825 on the NASDAQ.
 
The SPY MFC green line turned down at 95.2 and is counter-trend defensive.  SPY paused after an all-time closing high on Thursday.
