Indices Move Lower on Christmas Eve Eve

As we said in our webcast Monday evening we expected price action to be somewhat random on lighter volume on this holiday shortened week. Buyers and sellers alternating control during each trading day and that is what essentially happened on Tuesday. NYSE volume was less than 1 billion shares which is the lowest full day volume since August. Even though the broad indices were down a fair number of the stocks in our watch lists moved higher. There were more NYSE and Nasdaq advancers and fewer decliners on Tuesday than on Monday. DECK fell 3 cents holding in the $76 horizontal resistance area. PCLN rallied 6.55% moving back to the $70 horizontal resistance area on Tuesday forming a bullish engulfing pattern after Monday’s pull back. The SPX, Nasdaq and RUT all formed an inside day. The market will only be open a half day on Christmas Eve. Expect volume to be light.
