This is the refinery explosion that occured about 15 kilometers from my son's home in Ichihara. My daughter-in-law was out walking the dogs when the explosion took place and saw this from a further distance than shown in the photograph. (Picture courtesy of Daily Mail.)
2:50 pm ET - Spent more than two hours this morning on the internet with family in Japan...our family is fine and while in the area of the quake were fortunate to escape serious damage...items knocked off shelves and having other extened family unable to get out of Tokyo...they are otherwise doing well. They experienced two severe quakes, 19 after-shocks during the day and three more while on the internet with us, late at night local time. They are within 15 kilometers of the refinery explosion and fire that is being seen on the news and are totally safe at this time.
Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers and kind comments this morning...
While the market is of lesser interest today than normal, there are some interesting patterns on the chart today...
X, AKS. FCX forming morning star patterns....
SPY, BAC, CTXS, GLW, VRTX a piercing line...
AAPL, QQQQ, AMZN, CF, JNPR, JOYG, SLB, SWKS, WLT a bullish engulfing...
BIDU is a horizontal breakout...
I'll "see" you on the Weekly Wrap, 30 minutes after the market close...
